Just a tease

Things have been busy at our house, although, at the same time, it hasn't seemed busy at all. The days, when we're in them, seem to drag by, but when I take the time to look back, it seems like it's flown if that makes sense. Although we haven't been busy going places, we have made ourselves busy at home.

We've been coloring.....

And sledding....

Growing....(30 weeks, 3 days)

Playing on new toys....

And swiping Mommy's drink.....(she was so funny--she couldn't decide which was more important...taking as many sips as possible or saying "mmm" after every sip hehe)

Yesterday and the day before, we had a tease of spring weather. Yesterday it actually hit the 70s, but today it's back in the 40s. Yuck! It certainly made me ready for warm spring weather. I took Sassy outside to run around while I gathered trash that had been scattered in the yard by the wind about a week ago. Until yesterday, the weather was either too cold to be outside, or I would've had to walk through snow to get to it all.

We have about 9 weeks to go until we meet The Duke. I am anxious. I am done. I am ready, even though we don't have much for him yet. He has some clothes but we still need some basics, like long sleeve white onesies for layering. The end of April/beginning of May can still be a bit cool here, so constant short sleeves will be out of the question. We have decided not to build a master bedroom in the basement. For the first 4 months or so, he will room with us, then we will move him into the room with Sassy until we can save up enough money to add on to the house. Adding walls in the basement would really close it off and make it feel slightly claustrophobic. The littles sharing a room won't be that big of a deal until they are 4/5 or so, we don't think. Then, Sassy is our light sleeper, so that could be interesting in and of itself--especially if she keeps up her early morning rooster ways. This past week, the earliest she woke was 5:45, the latest was 6:45.

Crafty thoroughly enjoyed the snow but I think she is ready for spring. Yesterday's warm weather had her talking about the pool and warm weather activities. Poor thing. She misses playing outside with her friends all the time. Life inside the house with a little sister (who can be aggressive at times) and pregnant Mommy (who by noon is done and laying in bed with an achy, contracting belly) just isn't any fun!

Last Friday, Crafty's school had a family night so that parents could take their kids to the book fair. Instead of sending money with Crafty, we took her on family night instead and boy did she get spoiled by her daddy. As we were walking in, I told her to try and pick just 2 or 3 books. She ended up walking out of there with no less than 5, but definitely more than! When all was said and done, Golfer and Crafty had spent $75 at the book fair. Luckily several of the books are easy readers--which will be helpful. I'm so glad she loves to read!

Goodness the wind howled all night last night and is still just a goin' this morning. Wonder how long that's supposed to last?
